Dothan Area Botanical Gardens

This is where I spent several hours last week volunteering. I am working towards getting my certification as a Master Gardener. It has been a nice reprieve from the daily grind I have found myself in. I just wanted to share some of the pics I took there today. Hope you enjoy them! Also, here is their website if you want to take a look. There is so much to see out there and you will not want to miss this:

The following pictures are plants inside one of the greenhouses. This is where many plants are started and Master Gardeners and MG interns work in there to keep everything growing and pinched and whatever else needs to be done. It is not open to the public so this is a sneak-peek for you! There are so many wonderful varieties in there. I want one of each!

This is a pencil cactus. I have one that I thought was huge. Look at the size of the trunk on this plant! It is incredibly large! I wonder how old it is?

The next few pictures are from the grounds of DABG. These are only from the very front. There is so much more to see. There is a Koi pond, a meditation garden, a wedding garden, an azalea garden, a rose garden, and many, many more!

And last, but certainly not least, is Abigail who is affectionately known as Abby. She resides at the gardens but gets to go home with one of the ladies on weekends. She loves attention!
