A Heart of Thanksgiving

I love my family and enjoy spending time with them! There were 22 of us gathered together! It's not what it used to be when Mom did 90% of the cooking but it's still a time to be thankful and to celebrate family!

Alzheimer's Disease took that from us but it hasn't taken her! She still knows who most of us are and for that we are very thankful! We all miss her wonderful cooking but we've managed over the past few years to make edible food for everyone. We must be doing okay--they keep going back for seconds, some even thirds!

This is my niece, Cricket, me and Mom. We were having fun while everybody else was working! Just kidding--that would have been impossible to do!

This is Dad! He is holding one of his great-grandchildren, Jacob, who is almost 8 months old. He is a "big boy" as you can see.

He also has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen! What a doll he is!

And then there's my great-niece, Kylie Grace, with my hubs, Rentman. She has some of the cutest curls in the history of mankind (with the exception of my two sons as little ones)! My sister-in-law used to say it wasn't fair that her girls had straight hair and my sons had all the curls.

One of my other great-nieces, Lexi, was having fun and had her hands full, holding Jacob. Kylie wanted to make sure she didn't miss out on any of the action! You know how us girls are--we don't want to miss anything that might possibly be considered fun 'cause you know--

They just wanna, they just wanna
They just wanna, they just wanna
Oh girls, girls just wanna have fun!
Just ask Cyndi Lauper!

I'll have more family pics over the next few days but for now I have to get ready to go to a Christmas party! Maybe I will get Rentman to pause just long enough for us to have a picture made together. We are joining some of his everyday early-morning friends from McDonald's for an evening of guaranteed delight! We're gonna have fun!

Until next time--you've been warned! She's guarding "The Courtyard Gate"!

I love that picture of you, me and Nan. I felt like a kid again when we were driving home because as we neared Tifton I started getting all misty eyed. We almost turned around and came back! I should have sneaked some food home with us too. It was all so good.
